Nursery Reveal: It’s Finished!!!

Well, today is officially 36 weeks along, and I can finally say I think we’re ready. Now, all of you moms can go ahead and laugh at me…I know we have no idea what we’re getting into here. But, we’re as ready as we can be for now! :)

Just in the past week, here’s what we’ve gotten done:

  • Finished the nursery (hooray!!!)
  • Installed the car seat bases in our cars and put together the stroller
  • Packed as much of our hospital bag as we can for now
  • Organized the nursery closet and hall closet (where diapers and Brooklyn’s bath stuff are now stored)
  • Gone shopping for a few last minute items

There are still a few more things that I’d like to get done before she comes, but if they don’t happen, it won’t be the end of the world. So, I can finally rest easy…now we’re just counting down the days!

Gabby and Felix have been lots of help in getting ready for Brooklyn’s arrival. In fact, last night I caught Gabby testing out Brooklyn’s crib to make sure the mattress is nice and comfortable. How sweet of her! That’s something we need to do in the next couple of weeks…figure out how to keep the kitties out of the crib and off of the changing table. They are so hard to train!! Yesterday, they were “helping” me with the laundry. So, I guess they are trying to get ready for this new addition to the family too :)

We love clothes fresh out of the dryer!
I’m so cute!

Felix is slowly becoming more friendly!

So, here is my 36 week picture. Apparently, Brooklyn has really grown in the past week because I got lots of surprised comments today at work. I don’t notice it as much because I see myself every day, but I guess it’s more obvious to everyone else…

36 weeks

And, now for the grand reveal of Brooklyn’s nursery!! I am so excited about the way it turned out. It’s girly, but not all over pink. I’m really glad we left the walls a neutral color; it helps tone everything down. Eventually, I’d love to add a cushion in the window to make it a window seat when she’s old enough to sit up and read. I think that would be so cool…mostly because I was a bookworm when I was growing up. I still love to read a good book! :)

I think she has plenty of blankets! :)

Well, that’s it! It’s a pretty small room, but we’ve got it packed to the max. I’m so happy with the way it turned out.

We’re officially under a month to go til my due date. I’m looking forward to Monday when we go back for another appointment and we’ll do another ultrasound. I can’t wait to see her again! :)
