We’ve been busy lately! I think tonight will be our first night in a week and half that we can stay home and not have to go anywhere! Not gonna lie…I’m really looking forward to it :)
We really did enjoy the long Labor Day weekend though! We both worked Friday (while Mom kept B), Saturday we watched a lot of football, and Sunday afternoon we headed to the lake. I feel like summer is officially over now, which is kind of sad, but I’m glad that fall is right around the corner.
Brooklyn got all dressed up for her first Bama football game (outside of the womb, at least!), and we watched the game over at Tyler and Alisha’s apartment.
I guess Brooklyn is officially a rookie because she definitely didn’t make it through the whole game. She was due for a nap about the time the game started, which made things interesting. She did ok for about the first quarter and a half, but after that, things went downhill. We ended up taking turns sitting with her in another room so that her crying wouldn’t distract everyone else too much. By about the 4th quarter, she gave up and finally went to sleep. Whew! I don’t know what’s so hard about going to sleep, but apparently to an almost-7th-month-old, it’s not high up on the list of favorite activities. Maybe the next game will go more smoothly, but I told Travis afterward that our days of watching the Bama games interruption-free are pretty much over. Sad!
She would NOT be still for this picture! :) That’s the best I could do…
The thumb was already out, and it wasn’t even halftime yet…
4th quarter—lights out!
Sunday afternoon, we headed to Smith Lake to hang out with “Grandpa and Rae Rae” for Labor Day. We didn’t do a whole lot, but I think that was what I enjoyed the most.
Not too long after we got there, Brooklyn went “swimming” in her little pink pool. This time, she actually sat up in it by herself! (On Memorial Day weekend, she sat in her Bumbo in the pool). She seemed to enjoy it and sat in it for quite a while.
This picture below is my new favorite!
Brooklyn sat with Daddy to dry off after she was finished in the pool…
We also went on a boat ride, and Brooklyn quickly let us know that she HATED her life jacket. Why? She couldn’t get her left thumb into her mouth while wearing it. So, we had to improvise. She “partially” wore her life jacket while we were on the pontoon. It was the best we could do!
Brooklyn also tried coffee for the first time while we were there (just kidding!). She kept trying to grab Travis’s coffee mug though, so I had to snap a quick picture :)
I didn’t get any pictures with Rae Rae, but Brooklyn enjoyed sitting with Grandpa and Rae Rae while we were there. It seems like she’s going through a phase where she wants to be held more often now (maybe a tooth is right around the corner?), so she was happy to sit with anyone who would let her.
We headed back home Monday evening just in time for a little “wrestling match” between Daddy and Brooklyn. There was a pretty big weight difference, though, so I’m not sure if it’s fair to declare a winner. I’ll let you decide :)
Hope you had a great Labor Day weekend too! :)
