Brooklyn pregnancy #2

Just A Little Crazy :)

This will be a hodgepodge of updates since I’m short on time. (I never know how soon Brooklyn will wake up from her nap!).

Pregnancy: I was 12 weeks along on Wednesday. Everything is still going fine! We had our 12 week appointment on Tuesday, and we got to hear the “bebe’s” heartbeat for the first time. Not sure Brooklyn really understood, but she did hear it I think. HR was in the 160s. Brooklyn does randomly point to my belly now and say “Bebe!”, and she will give my belly kisses too. It’s very sweet! We go back to my regular doctor on November 12th, and we’ll see the high risk doctor next Tuesday for the first trimester screening. (We aren’t anticipating any problems, but it’s just another checkup that we did with Brooklyn, so we thought we’d do it again this time). I’m hoping they might be able to tell us the gender! I’m hoping for PINK so Brooklyn will have a little sister close in age :)

Baby Shower: Not for me…haha! I helped with a co-ed baby shower for Tyler and Alisha on Saturday, and Travis and Brooklyn came along too. We had brunch, and then Tyler and Alisha opened gifts afterward. It was a lot of fun! I wish I’d gotten pictures of the food because it was all so good, but I forgot!  (I’m blaming that on “preggo brain”…haha). Here are some of the pics we did get:

Baby Loveless’s nursery is airplane themed, so we tried to incorporate that into the shower :)

Instead of a traditional guest book, we bought one of Tyler’s favorite childhood books, and everyone signed that instead. I think they liked it! (So did Brooklyn…look in the lower left corner!).

Brooklyn has “The Poky Little Puppy” at home, so I think she thought that was HER book…haha. Of course, she wanted them to read it to her!

Soon-to-be parents!! :)

Brooklyn: Our 20 month old is as adventurous and curious as ever. Every time I think she is into EVERYTHING, then it gets even worse the next month. We are hanging in there though! When your toddler’s favorite activity isn’t playing with toys but instead it’s pulling everything out of the cabinets and closets, you just have to learn how to survive and live with it I  guess. It would be impossible for me to “police” her 24/7 unless I didn’t plan on cooking, cleaning, eating, going to the bathroom, or anything else, so basically we just do the best we can :)

She is still learning new words and phrases all the time. I love it! New phrases lately are “All gone”, “Hi kitty”, “Bye kitty”, and “Ray Bebe!” (Hooray for babies–it’s from a book she likes). One day recently when Travis got home from work, she exclaimed, “Hi Daddy!” when she saw him come in. It was so sweet!

She is loving Bible Class still and is learning a lot! She knows several songs that they sing in class, and will perform the actions to a couple of them. I caught her on video doing one of them:

On Wednesday night, they learned about the Walls of Jericho and how the Israelites marched around like God said to do. The teacher had set up “walls” made of cardboard bricks. When the walls came tumbling down, Brooklyn apparently said, “Uh oh!!”. The teacher had to tell her, “It’s okay…God did it.” Haha!!!

What a boo-tiful baby! :)

One day recently, we went over to Caitlyn’s for a fall toddler playdate. She had fall themed food and activities for us…it was so neat! We had a great time! Here are a bunch of the kids playing in Nathan’s room :)

I traced Brooklyn’s hand to make the “tree”. I think it turned out cute! Thanks, Caitlyn, for a great morning!!

Back at home, Brooklyn is still obsessed with the kitty cats. She calls Gabby “kitty” and Felix “bah”. Of course, Gabby is the only one who will let her get close.

Brooklyn also has two favorite puppy dogs: Bo Bo (my parents’ dog) and Toby (Cici’s dog). Here is a video of her talking about them:

Here is Brooklyn modeling an outfit I got from Kids Market last week. I’m in love with those boots, and they were my “splurge” at $8! They go with everything! I don’t think she could get much cuter :)

Recently, I had to put a password on my phone so that Brooklyn couldn’t get into it and mess stuff up. Well, somehow she can still open the camera without knowing the password. I found this picture on my phone last week…it’s Brooklyn’s first “selfie”!

I’ll leave you with a picture of what was SUPPOSED to be part of our dinner on Tuesday night:

We were going to have breakfast for dinner, and Brooklyn decided to pull the carton of eggs off the counter before I could stop her. Luckily, I had more eggs in the fridge, so we didn’t go hungry. It’s getting harder and harder to find places to put things where she can’t reach them though!!

Life is a little crazy with a toddler running around!
