Savannah’s Newborn Photo Session

We were very happy with the way that Brooklyn’s professional pictures turned out, so we decided to use Carla with Carla Lawrence Photography again for Savannah’s pictures. This time around, we went to the studio that Carla shares with several other photographers. It’s the same place that she took Brooklyn’s 1 year pictures also. It was a busy morning trying to get all four of us dressed and fed before we headed that way. That was one of our first outings as a family of four (probably other than going to the doctor for Savannah’s checkup earlier that week). Savannah was 10 days old when these pictures were taken, so she was several days older than Brooklyn was in hers (B was only 5 days old at the time). The fact that Savannah was older plus she already weighed more at birth meant she looked a lot more chunky in her pictures! Brooklyn looked so little in comparison…haha. Also, by the time the pictures were taken, I think Savannah’s newborn sleepiness had already worn off. We had a really hard time getting her to go to sleep for the pictures even though I fed her right before we got started. (Side note: This should have been a forewarning of what was to come—she is still so difficult to get to sleep sometimes!). So, Carla earned her money on this session for sure. I think we were there for at least an hour and half!

Carla originally tried to get her to sleep on her belly for these shots, but Savannah kept waking up! So, we finally gave up and just put her on her side :)

In the end, I thought the pictures turned out great! Carla just had to work a little harder for these pictures than for Brooklyn’s newborn ones (although B DID poop on one of Carla’s blankets that day…whoops!). Just for fun, here’s a side by side comparison of the girls’ newborn pictures :)
