Well, most of you have probably heard by now, but just to make it “blog official”…
It’s another girl! (We think!)
Of course, since this was such an early ultrasound, they could tell us at 20 weeks…It’s a boy! But, for now, we are assuming Brooklyn will be getting a little sister. Yay! When the tech asked us last week if we wanted to find out the gender, we said sure. Then she asked us what we thought it was…boy or girl? Both of us had been assuming it was a girl all along. I think we would have been shocked if she’d said BOY. So, here’s to more pink, dresses, and hairbows, Da-Da! I know you’re looking forward to it! :)
At first, I figured we’d just tell our families right away and not keep it a secret. But, the more I thought about it, I decided I wanted to do something a little more fun. Last time around, I made gender reveal cupcakes. They were chocolate with pink filling in the middle. This time, I kept it a little more simple. I did cake balls with pink cake on the inside. They were very easy to make and pretty tasty too!
Here are some of them before I dipped them in chocolate almond bark…
I coated each one in the melted almond bark and let them harden on wax paper.
I put the sprinkles on top before they hardened!
And, here’s the finished product! I thought they turned out cute! :)
We told Travis’s family on Thursday night and my family on Saturday night. I think Tyler and Alisha were hoping for a boy (so their little boy would have a boy cousin close in age). I think all of them guessed boy. They were all still excited though! My family was split down the middle in their guesses I believe. I have to confess that I accidentally slipped up and Mom figured out the gender earlier on Saturday than everyone else. We were talking about the ultrasound, and I said “HER hand” without thinking about what I was saying. Of course, Mom caught what I’d said. Whoops! It was still fun to let everyone else find out that night though!
Mom doesn’t look very surprised, does she? Haha! ;)
I think Brooklyn is more excited about the “bebe” than she looks here. This picture was taken well after her bedtime!
Now that everyone knows it’s a girl, we keep getting asked whether we have picked out a name yet. I have to smile when people ask that question. Don’t they remember the process from last time? Spreadsheets, rankings, etc. etc.??? So, the answer is: We have our spreadsheet of girl names from last time, so I guess we’ll start by looking at that list and decide if we still like the same names or not. Then, we’ll go from there. We are not planning to keep the name a secret, so once we decide, I’ll be sure to share! :)
We’re very excited and thankful for a healthy pregnancy and baby so far!
One reply on “Baby BROTHER or SISTER?”
Yippee for pink, dresses and hairbows!!!
