Although it has rained almost non-stop since last weekend (and we may get some SNOW showers today!), the main way I’ve been showered lately is with BABY showers!! I’ve had two in the past several days, and they were both wonderful. We are really blessed with awesome family and friends who have been so generous in helping us get ready for Brooklyn to arrive!
I’ll do a baby shower recap in just a second (with lots of pictures!), but first….a 35 week update:
We had another doctor’s appointment on Monday morning, and everything went great. Brooklyn’s heart rate was in the 140s (where it’s been pretty much all along), and my weight and blood pressure were fine. It was a quick appointment because I really haven’t been having any issues. Our next appointment is on the 28th, and that one will be a biggie! We’ll have an ultrasound done to determine how big she is and what position she’s in, and they’ll check to see if I’m dilated at all yet. So exciting! I can’t believe we’re almost to that point. I’ve been feeling pretty good for the most part. The main “problem” I’ve noticed lately is just that my belly is ITCHING…I guess it’s just from the skin stretching. Sometimes it really drives me crazy, but luckily it doesn’t bother me all the time. I’ve also noticed that my ribs on my right side have been sore the past few days…I think she’s been kicking them with those big feet! I think I’ve also forgotten to mention that a few weeks ago I officially stopped “jogging” and started walking instead. It was just getting too uncomfortable, so I’m trying to walk a few times a week around the neighborhood. I guess any exercise is better than none at all!
Ok, now onto the fun part! My first baby shower was given by several ladies at church, and it was at Melissa’s house on Saturday morning. They served brunch type foods, and everything was yummy. Despite the gloomy weather outside, a lot of people still came, and we were spoiled with some really wonderful gifts. My mom and sister were also able to come, which I was so excited about. It was a perfect morning!
Whew! Jenn was my official photographer, and she took over 300 pictures!!! I really did try to pick out only the best ones!!!
Then, on Monday I had a baby shower at work. Laura planned it, and she put a lot of work into it! Everything turned out so cute!! The theme was “Pretty in Pink”, so everyone wore pink scrubs that day :)
I think it’s obvious how awesome our friends and family are! Thank you everyone for loving us and loving Brooklyn!! We are so blessed! :)
One reply on “Showered!”
