is THIS!
As of a week ago, Brooklyn is now pulling up to her feet!
To her credit, she’d done this once or twice before, but it was back in early December. After that, she made no attempts to do it again. It was like she just forgot about it and was focusing on other things (probably like eating cat food and Christmas ornaments!).
Then, last Monday she promptly crawled over to the end table right beside where I was sitting on the couch. She got up on her knees, put one foot down, and stood right up. No big deal, Mom!
I guess she just saw something she wanted on that table and decided she had to have it! Since last Monday, she’s pulled up to her feet at least once every day, so I guess this time it will stick.
It’s just crazy to see her standing up like that. I guess it’s because it makes her seem like a little adult, not a baby. Pretty soon, she’ll be walking instead of crawling everywhere. Then, she’ll really seem like a big girl!
It also brings some new challenges now that she can get to more stuff. Things that were previously “safe” on the end table or other higher shelves no longer are! So, the baby-proofing continues. Now, who wants to convince Travis that having this movie rack out in the living room is a bad idea??
Moving on, we went to Trussville this past weekend to celebrate my mom’s birthday. It was a nice weekend with beautiful weather! It was a welcome change from the 5 degree temperatures earlier last week. Jenn and Chandler came over Saturday night, and we ate supper and hung out together. It was a lot of fun!

Do you see my 3 teeth???
Happy birthday, Rae Rae!
Chandler’s dog, Champ, came over as well, and Brooklyn was glad to see him again. Bo was hiding all night, but Champ stuck around for Brooklyn to pet and play with.
We sat around in the living room just talking after Mom opened her gifts, and after a while Travis started smelling something. Being the parents of a baby, he and I are pretty good at detecting poop. I thought I might have smelled something too, but I wasn’t sure. We checked Brooklyn’s diaper, and she was all clear, so we thought we were just imagining things…
A little while later, Travis could still smell “it”, but we couldn’t figure out where “it” was coming from. Much to my dismay, Brooklyn came to the rescue. I was sitting in the chair closest to the foyer, and I looked over that way because Brooklyn had just crawled in there. I looked at her, and it looked like she had poop all over her hands. She did. DOG poop! I don’t think I’ve ever jumped out of a chair any faster. If I had been 10 seconds later, I’m sure she would’ve had it all in her mouth!!! GROSS!!!
Who ME????
To his credit, Champ is a very well trained dog. I guess he was just leaving Rae Rae an extra birthday present, and Brooklyn happened to be the one to find it!
What an exciting time!! You never know what you’ll find at Rae Rae’s house!! ;)
