We had Brooklyn’s 1-year photo session with Carla last Saturday, and it was a lot of fun and went really well. We always enjoy seeing Carla, and it had been too long! We missed Brooklyn’s 9 month session because it was really close to Carla’s due date, but we’re planning to make that up at a future time (maybe an 18 month or 2 year session?).
This time, we met Carla at the new studio (which is so neat!), and we took some outside pictures before taking some inside the studio. The weather was a little cool, but not unbearable. It was just nice to be outside for a little while!
Little side story: We were finished with the outdoor pictures and were walking back to the studio (just a few blocks away) when a train came. We happened to be RIGHT near the train track when it came, so it was super loud. I actually don’t think I’ve ever been that close to a moving train when I wasn’t in my car, and I KNOW Brooklyn hasn’t. If you want to see the definition of “shaking in fear”, that was it. Her whole body was literally shaking she was so scared of that loud train. Not crying…just shaking. Poor thing! Luckily, once the train passed by, she was okay again. She wasn’t going to let that mean ol’ train ruin the rest of her pictures with Miss Carla!
The thumbie even made a quick appearance!
Love this family shot :)
They’re all so good that it’s hard to pick a favorite, but this is definitely one of them!
I love this one too!
When we got back to the studio, Carla took a few more pictures downstairs before we headed upstairs for the cake smash. I guess I could’ve changed Miss B into a different outfit for some variety, but I just love that little sweater dress and ruffle pants from Uncle Glynn and Aunt Pam. It’s super cute!
Another one of my very favorites :)
What a cutie!
Last but not least, the CAKE! The Bakery at Elkmont made a really cute and tasty cake (yes, I later ate off of the back of the cake that hadn’t been touched…hehe), and Brooklyn made a huge mess! She ate a little icing, but mostly enjoyed putting her little tootsies in that cake. It was so funny and most likely the only time she’ll be allowed to “play with her food” on purpose. The things we do for a photo shoot…haha!
Cute and really yummy too!
“Can I just stick my face in it?”
Tasty tootsie!
She enjoyed gnawing on the “1” topper…it was made of fondant :)
Once she got cake all over her foot, she just held it up in the air the whole time. It was so funny! It was like she didn’t want to put that “dirty” foot on the floor. What manners!
What manners?? There’s her foot in the cake! Guess we’ve got some work to do :)
OH my!
Funny expression!
She definitely made a mess! So fun!
We had a great time with Carla on Saturday! I think out of all 3 sessions we’ve had, this was my favorite. There are so many great pictures that it’s hard to choose my favorites! Carla is so talented, and we can’t wait to have our next session with her!!
Now, someone please help me out: How did this baby…
turn into this BIGGER baby…
SO INCREDIBLY fast?????
