Here’s a quick recap of the last week or so around our house (with pictures of our fun in the snow at the end, of course!):
Brooklyn has figured out the easiest way to put a puzzle together: Sit on Daddy’s back and watch him do it for you ;)
Brooklyn got some nice, warm fuzzy socks from Cici…they are like knee socks for now, but I’m sure she’ll grow into them!
Play time after breakfast one morning :)
I’ve started giving Savannah some Cheerios or Puffs before meals occasionally, and she is getting better at picking them up…
She also tried using a sippy cup (the kind with a straw) for the first time last week, and figured out how to suck on it after only a couple of minutes. It was crazy! Most of the time she lets the water dribble back out of her mouth, but at least she can suck it out of the straw. That’s a start ;)
It’s so fun to look at each other through the door of the “oven”!
Peekaboo!
I haven’t done nearly as good of a job of taking pictures of Savannah with our good camera (2nd child problems), so I pulled it out one morning to snap a few…
They are both looking so big!
Sweet girl :)
These pictures were taken on Tuesday morning when it was SO COLD outside. Brooklyn wanted to play on her “playground” anyway, so I told her we’d go out there during Savannah’s nap. It was between 20 and 25 degrees, but Brooklyn didn’t care one bit. She thought it was fun that we could see our breath ;) Anyway, that explains why you can see the sleeves of her PJs under her red shirt…we had to layer up!
“I can crawl!”
Look at her go!
How does Brooklyn eat an Oreo? Take it apart, eat the cream, and maybe take one or two little bites of the cookie. Then, she usually gives Mommy the rest to finish…haha
I finally got a good shot of Savannah’s teeth!
We went to Publix on Wednesday when it was cold AND raining out, but we survived. Those are the days when it’s tempting to just order online from Wal-mart and let them load it into my trunk for me!
Savannah puts up with a lot, doesn’t she? :)
So, we’ve been stuck inside a lot this week…
…staying busy with things like coloring, doing puzzles, watching Toy Story and Daniel Tiger, reading books, etc.
Thursday morning, we changed it up and went to Alisha’s house to hang out with her and Carter. It’s fun to play with “boy” toys! :)
I think I’ve mentioned this before, but Brooklyn is obsessed with Buzz and Woody from Toy Story right now. She even draws them on her “Doodle”. Can you tell which one is which? Hint: Woody is the tall, skinny character on the left, and Buzz is the circles (I think one circle is his head, one is his helmet, and one is his body..haha) on the right.
Then, on Friday it started SNOWING outside! Brooklyn was sitting at the kitchen table eating her lunch when it started, and she was so excited. She couldn’t wait to go out there even though it had barely started sticking to the ground. I hated to tell her “no”, so we bundled up after lunch and went outside for a few minutes. It was really windy, which made it feel even colder outside. We didn’t stay out there long, but it was long enough for my toes to freeze!
Savannah’s first snow! (Doesn’t she look excited?)
This girl was so excited!!
The wind was blowing hard, but she didn’t care!
SNOW!!!
We went inside and warmed up with some hot chocolate before her nap. Daddy got off work early, so we stayed inside for the rest of the day. Brooklyn ended up taking a really long nap (running outside in the cold must have worn her out!), so there wasn’t time to go back out there before it got dark…
So, she was dying to go out there first thing Saturday morning, of course!
My sweet little Eskimos were bundled up for the cold! (Brooklyn’s snowsuit came from Rae Rae, and when I reminded Brooklyn of that…she said, “I should tell her ‘thank you’!”)
Cheese!
Savannah wasn’t sure what to think of the snow…
…especially when it made for a cold mustache above her lip!
Brrrrr!!!
“Let me see if I can eat this stuff…”
So, Little Sis wasn’t pumped, but Brooklyn made up for Savannah’s lack of excitement. She loved throwing snowballs with Daddy!
I think she was enjoying herself a little, don’t you?
Daddy got her good!
Run away!
Daddy also taught Brooklyn how to make a snow angel. She thought that was so fun!
Good job, B!
The slide is even more fun with snow on it!
Savannah was ready to go in and warm up after about 20 minutes or so :)
But first, a quick picture :)
The snow was too powdery to make a good snowman, so this was our best “attempt” at a little one. More like a snow “mound”…haha! Brooklyn wanted to use the extra carrots for part of the mouth ;)
We probably stayed outside for close to an hour, and then our toes were frozen! More hot chocolate was a must! :)
That’s about it for this update! Up next: Savannah turns 9 months old at the end of this week, and Brooklyn will be THREE in a few short weeks. Where does the time go???
One reply on “January Snow and More”
Love the pics.
