It’s official!

It’s going to be ours!!!! :)

Quick update…we have a contract on this house!! We’re set to close January 13th if all goes according to plan. I am so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here’s the recap of the house: 16 years old, 1930 square feet, almost 1/2 an acre of land, 3 bedrooms/2 bathrooms, BIG kitchen with plenty of cabinet and counter space, fenced-in backyard, etc. This is the house that has had pretty much everything replaced or very well-maintained, so it’s almost like new.

We were able to talk the sellers down almost $5000 off of their asking price, and they are paying almost all of our closing costs, so that’s good. They are also going to fix a couple of minor things that need repair, as well as pay for a 1 year home warranty. I feel like we’re getting a great deal! Overall, we’re getting the house for about $15,000 less than they paid for it in 2007, so hopefully when we get ready to sell, we’ll be able to make a profit if the market improves!

I guess doing this around the holidays might be crazy, but we are busy all year long, so it probably doesn’t matter too much. At least, buying in the winter gives us more time to buy things like a lawnmower and grill! :)
