It was about 5:30 PM on Tuesday evening, and Brooklyn and I were in the kitchen. I was doing the dishes, and she was sitting by the dishwasher “helping” me (which means she was trying to take the dishes OUT of the dishwasher that I’d just put in there…). Then, we heard the garage door go up. Travis was home!
It took him a few minutes to come inside because he checked the mail first and took the trash can out to the road. Finally, the door opened, and he walked into the kitchen. We both turned around, and I said, “Brooklyn, look who it is!”
She looked straight at him and announced, “Da Da!”
Of course, I was so excited, and Travis even said it gave him the warm and fuzzies :) It was the first time that we’ve been absolutely sure that Brooklyn knew what she was saying.
Watching her grow and learn new things is just so awesome!!
Still, I’m torn. Part of me wants her to keep growing and learning, and the other half of me wants her to just stay little. She’ll be 1 YEAR OLD next week. It’s just crazy how fast it’s flown by (and everyone said it would). So thankful for such a wonderful blessing the past year has been :)
