I love getting professional pictures taken of our growing family! It has been our tradition to have pictures taken of our babies at birth, 6 months, and 1 year old. With Abigail, we’ve had to adjust the schedule a bit due to her stay in the NICU and her delay in hitting milestones. Her “newborn” session was really done at about 6 weeks of age because she spent the first 27 days of her life in the hospital. We could have done a 6 month session in February, but when I talked to Carla, she recommended waiting until Abigail was sitting up on her own. I was kind of thinking the same thing anyway, so we decided to postpone the pictures until April just to be safe. Then, we had to reschedule the session multiple times due to conflicts, so we finally ended up having the pictures made on Saturday, April 21st. Abigail was just over 8 months old and had been sitting up on her own for a couple of weeks.
I was really hoping Abigail would take a cat nap in the car on the way to Athens that morning, but it didn’t happen, so we made it work the best we could. She was really tired and not in the mood to smile a whole lot. Brooklyn and Savannah were well behaved, but Brooklyn kept doing these weird fake smiles in a lot of the pictures. I didn’t get my ideal “perfect” picture of all three girls, but that’s okay. With every new addition to the family, it gets harder and harder to get great pictures. I’ll just be honest and say that this was probably my least favorite photo session we’ve had with Carla so far, but we aren’t exactly the easiest subjects to photograph these days. We still got some good pictures, and I’m hoping that Abigail’s 1 year pictures go even better (fingers crossed, but we’ll see…).
Best family pic :)
I do love how Carla always makes sure to get some pictures of the other girls even though they aren’t the primary focus of the day. The dresses that Brooklyn and Savannah are wearing in these pictures were made by Cici for her girls. So special!
5 years old – hard to believe!
It took A LOT of work to get Savannah to smile even a little bit. We finally got some smiles out of her, but it wasn’t easy…
I love this 3 year old sweetheart!
I believe that Abigail’s dress was made for Brooklyn by Melissa Hester. All of our girls have gotten to wear it. I love it!
My favorite of the day!
I love this one too :)
Savannah was over it by this point…haha…and Brooklyn’s smile looks plastered on!
Abigail’s face! (Shes like…”I can’t believe they’re making me do this…”)
I thought this one was sweet :)
I thought this was one of the best pictures from the day—Daddy with his little ladies!
My picture with the girls didn’t turn out quite so well…ha! This was the only one that Carla sent us, so the others she took must have been even worse!
I think we’re better at pictures when we’re not supposed to look at the camera ;)
That’s it! We still got some frame-worthy pictures, so I guess that’s all I can ask for. I’m thinking we will probably put off Abigail’s 1 year pictures until September or October just to space them out from these mid-year pics. Up next….recapping the month of May!
