This past weekend…YOU GUESSED IT…we went out of town! Ha :) Actually, Travis stayed home, and Brooklyn and I went to Trussville on Saturday. Travis thoroughly enjoyed his 24 hours of peace and quiet, no messes to clean up, and watching movies and World Cup.
Getting packed up :)
Brooklyn and I got to Trussville early Saturday afternoon, and we had a fun rest of the day. I just have to brag on my dad for a minute. He is just as great of a “Gramps” as he is a dad. I remember growing up how Dad would spend hours with us on the beach and in the ocean just playing. He also helped me study for all of my tests growing up even though I’m sure he had plenty of other things he could have been doing. Well, now he is the same way with Miss B! He reads to her, plays with her, takes her outside, and will entertain her for as long as we need. He’s awesome! Brooklyn loves him too :)
Riding in the wagon outside was great fun!
Snuggling inside
We went to the playground after supper on Saturday night, and Brooklyn had a blast. We joked that she is going to be a garbage collector or environmental engineer when she grow up because she spent a lot of her time on the playground walking around and picking up trash. What a silly girl!
Dad followed her everywhere!
On the move
One of her favorite things to do was climbing up these “stairs”…she got pretty good at it!
She also climbed up the slide a time or two…haha
Swinging!
After she was finished playing, her curly hair was even curlier. So cute!!
Watermelon was a great ending to the evening. She ate that whole piece by herself!
Sunday afternoon was Jenn’s bridal tea. It was really nice! Jenn and Chandler got some really nice stuff, and it was great to see several ladies that I hadn’t seen in a while. I tried to be the official photographer for the tea, although Brooklyn kind of hampered my efforts. She wasn’t in the best mood while we were there. I think it was a combination of being tired and being around people she didn’t know very well. She wanted to cling to my leg the whole time or be held. Luckily, she ate quite of bit of food, and that helped to pacify her :)
Jenn with the hostesses
Dad came for a few minutes to drop some stuff off, so we got his picture too!
Yummy food!

Some of the gifts!
Jenn registered for the every day version of the fine china pattern I have. I love it!
Future sisters-in-law :)
The countdown is on! Less than 2 weeks to go! :)
*Okay, I’m officially caught up on the blog…for now! There will be lots to blog about in the next few weeks between 4th of July fun, Jenn’s wedding weekend, and Uncle Gary’s campaign runoff party. It may be August before I’m caught up again :)
