This is a “catch up” post of what we’ve been up to over the past several weeks. I’m excited that September is here, and hopefully it will bring some cooler weather with it soon. I hope to take advantage of the nice fall weather by spending a lot of time outside with the girls. We are thinking about buying a new playset for our backyard sometime soon, and hopefully we will do that before it gets too cold to play outside this winter. Hint, Hint…Mr. Grant ;)
Cici invited us over one night recently so that Brooklyn could help pick “her” watermelon that was growing in the garden. Apparently, she had laid claim to one of them and liked sitting on it when she went to Cici’s to play.
It was a pretty big one!
We told her to knock on it to see if it was ripe :)
“This is heavy!”
We think it weighed about 20 pounds…Brooklyn didn’t outweigh it by much!
We took it inside and taste tested some of it before taking some home. It was sweet and juicy! Good picking, Brooklyn!
We’ve been to the fountains at Bridge Street twice in the past few weeks…
…and one of those times Nathan, Gabriel, and Caitlyn joined us. It was a fun morning, despite the look on Brooklyn’s face!
Savannah did great at Bridge Street both times we went! She sat in her stroller some…
…and napped in my arms too!
One Tuesday recently, I got brave and took the girls to IHOP by myself for lunch. They had a special deal where you could get 3 pancakes for $1, and Brooklyn and I both LOVE pancakes! :)
Brooklyn was really well behaved the whole time, and was so excited to be eating at a restaurant!
Savannah slept almost the whole time we were there, which worked out very nicely :)
Yum yum!
I’m sure you’ve heard by now: “I can roll over!”
There she goes!
My little sweetie!
Speaking of that sweet girl, doesn’t she look a lot like her daddy??
Now that she can roll over, she sleeps in this Zipadeezip blanket instead of being swaddled. We don’t have a video monitor, but I think she is primarily sleeping on her tummy these days.
“Time for a Bible story, Sister!” Brooklyn usually calls her “Sister”, “Sabandah”, or my personal favorite…”Baby Sabandah Sister” :)
This was one morning over at Aunt Alisha’s house. We were trying to make some food for Britni and her family. It was very interesting trying to cook while watching a 2.5 year old, 9.5 month old, and 4 month old…haha. We did get it done eventually!
Savannah tried out Carter’s exersaucer while we were there and seemed to enjoy it for a few minutes at least…
Brooklyn recently discovered her Halloween costume from last year in her closet. She likes putting it on herself (usually it ends up backwards) and says she wants to be a butterfly again this year for Halloween. Too bad it’s really too small for her now…last year she hated wearing it!
*This was last year when it actually fit…haha
She also thinks she can still fit in her old car seat, which Savannah now uses ;)
The Renfrows gave us this tricycle that they no longer needed. So nice of them! Brooklyn calls it her “bicycle” and really likes it, but hasn’t quite figured out how to pedal yet. I’m sure she’ll be zooming up and down the driveway before long though!
B is in this stage of coming up with fake injuries just to get attention I guess. She’s gotten a few back rubs before bed out of her acting skills ;) She also likes to fall down on purpose and say “Ow! I hurt my angle (ankle)!” Haha!!
We built this “castle” using every single Megablock we have…
She loves to build things!
Savannah is getting pretty good at sitting in her Bumbo! At least for a few minutes, and then she gets tired and starts leaning to the side :)
A little playtime after breakfast!
Saturday was Savannah’s first Bama game (outside of the womb at least). Too bad for her (and lucky for us), we put both girls to bed before we started watching. It was a good game! Made me a lot more excited about the season!
She sported her cute Bama dress at church on Sunday to celebrate the win!
This girl loves to grab her toys…
…and her toes!!
Nom nom nom :)
Our new washer and dryer came on Saturday…finally! We are liking them so far! They are so much nicer than our old set…so many buttons and options. Brooklyn likes that they chime and “sing a song” when the load finishes :) And I’ve caught Travis in the laundry room multiple times just watching them spin…haha. Maybe I should just let him take over the laundry duty!!
Cousin Carter is getting so big and so mobile! He and Brooklyn are starting to interact and play together a little bit. It’s so neat! Won’t be long before Savannah is right there in the mix too. It’s going to be so much fun watching them all grow up together!
This was one morning after we walked around the neighborhood with Alisha and Carter. Brooklyn has always had the tendency to fall asleep when she’s riding! I wish we could pass that gene on to her sister :)
Brooklyn is quite the helper…when she wants to be. Last week I asked her if she wanted to help me cook supper. She was so excited and said “Sure!”
She helped me “stir” the spaghetti sauce :) It could have been a huge disaster, but she actually didn’t make a mess except getting a little on the stove :)
Yesterday was her first time to ride in the fun grocery cart at Publix! Usually, I use the regular kind because I have Savannah in the car seat with us, but this time Savannah stayed home with Daddy (he was off for Labor Day). Brooklyn loved turning the steering wheel!
Yesterday afternoon B and I played outside while Daddy cut the grass!
This girl is so full of life!
We picked a flower and I got her to pose with it. It was a fake smile…but at least I got one :)
As you can see, we’ve been having lots of fun around here lately. We’ve got a lot planned for the next few weeks, so I’m hoping the fun will continue. Hope you’re having a good week too!
