We spent Memorial Day weekend at the lake with my family again this year. It was one of the best lake trips ever; Brooklyn had a blast! She loved just walking around the house and exploring. She enjoyed “swimming” and going for rides on the boat. I think if she could choose, she’d love to live at the lake the whole summer. Guess we need to go back sometime soon!
“I’m ready! Let’s go swimming!”
She loved splashing around in the pool…
She thinks she’s a big girl and can drink out of “big girl” cups :)
What a sweet girl!
Just for kicks…this was last year on Memorial Day weekend. I’d say she’s grown a lot in a year!
Clap for Brooklyn!
We all ate some watermelon while Brooklyn was “swimming”. Of course, she wanted some too. That girl loves watermelon!
What a heavy diaper!! ;)
Hehe…
Time for a boat ride!
Not too happy about wearing that life jacket…haha
Brooklyn and her daddy!
The boat ride put her to sleep both times we went!
:)
More watermelon, please!
“Why is this can empty, Dad?”
Sitting in the captain’s chair!
“I think I can steer this thing…”
First time swimming in the lake! If she didn’t have to wear a life jacket, she would love it. She still enjoyed floating around though :) Her favorite part was sitting with me on my float and chasing Daddy around the lake. We would go after him and tickle his toes, and she thought it was the funniest thing. So cute!
Rae Rae’s Barber Shop also opened up on Monday morning (a.ka. it was time for my dad to get a haircut), so Brooklyn lined up to get her bangs trimmed. They were getting kind of long in the front, so Rae Rae just snipped them a little bit. Don’t worry, Cici, she didn’t touch the curls in the back! ;)
“What did you say we’re about to do?”
“I’m not so sure about this…”
These next few pictures tell the story…
This one is my favorite! Hehe…
It only took a couple of minutes, but you would have thought we were torturing her…haha. It was the same reaction I usually get when trying to clip her fingernails. She just doesn’t want to sit still and be “held down” in any way. Maybe that’s typical toddler behavior??
Final result! Thanks Rae Rae!
And a head full of curls remain :)
Sunday afternoon, Jenn and Chandler came up to the lake for a few hours also. We helped them stuff their wedding invitations (which turned out so pretty!), and we also celebrated Chandler’s birthday. The whole weekend was so relaxing and fun! Excellent food and just a great time with my family. It’s hard to be stressed out when you’re at the lake. I love it!
