Last Thursday, Brooklyn turned 1 year old (in case you hadn’t heard…haha)!
It started snowing on Wednesday night, so we woke up on her birthday to about 2 1/2 inches of snow on the ground! It’s too bad that Brooklyn didn’t appreciate how neat it was that we had snow here on her birthday. Oh well :)
It was the perfect kind of snow because it stayed on the ground all morning, but had melted enough by mid-day that we weren’t stuck at home for a long time. Travis didn’t have to be at work until 1 PM, so we had a nice morning at home all together.
Thursday was Brooklyn’s second time out in the snow, and she was pretty interested in checking it out. She enjoyed kicking her feet around in it, and she even tasted some snow. If that silly Mommy and Daddy had bought her some real mittens, she might have been able to grab it better. Don’t they know that socks are for your feet??
After she played in the snow for a few minutes, we went inside to change clothes and warm up. We made sure to get a few pictures before Daddy went in for a long day of work (about 4 hours…hehe).
I’m one!
After Travis left and the snow had melted a little more, Brooklyn and I went grocery shopping at Aldi and Publix. We had a nice evening at home eating supper and watching the Olympics. We didn’t do any official birthday celebration since her party was going to be on Saturday (and she didn’t know the difference! I think she wondered why we took so many pictures of her that day!). Cici and Aunt Melissa came over for a few minutes to bring a birthday gift and card though, so that was sweet.
Overall, it was a great day! Happy 1st birthday, Brooklyn!
(More on her birthday party coming in a separate post…)
