2018 Easter Festivities

This year, Easter was on April 1st. We had thought about taking the kids to the city of Madison’s Easter egg hunt at Dublin Park on the day before Easter, but we ended up going to a picnic/egg hunt hosted by a family from church. The ladies who organized it really put a lot of work into all of the activities/decor, and it was such a fun day!

They divided up the kids by age and had different crafts for each group…

Brooklyn always enjoys stuff like this, so she had fun making her own bunny :)

Savannah was at the toddler table and did a good job with her coloring sheet!

I love this picture – perfect representation of what it means to be a kid. I love her wonder and enthusiasm.

There were group activities after everyone ate lunch, including races for the kids. I didn’t do a great job of taking pictures that day, but they also had a hay ride and face painting before it was time for the big egg hunt!

The Weatherfords have a huge yard, so they had the kids divided by age for the egg hunt. Savannah was one of the oldest in her age group…

If you know Savannah, you know she’s never in a hurry to do much of anything, so she took her time walking around just casually looking for eggs.

She still managed to have an overflowing basket by the end. There were SO many eggs and so much candy…it was insane.

Brooklyn, on the other hand, ran everywhere!

Brooklyn’s basket was full to the brim by the end as well. They seriously ended up with way more candy than they even got at Halloween!

We had a great day and enjoyed spending time with our church family :)

The Easter bunny came that night! Yes, that’s printer paper under the baskets…we go through it like crazy with our little artists around here.

Inside the baskets were bubbles, toy cars, Sour Patch kids, chocolate, and character band-aids :)

They were excited!

After checking out the Easter baskets, it was time to get ready for church. I bought the girls’ dresses from Leah Carver. I thought they were so cute! I bought them before Abigail was born, so she didn’t have anything to match.  There’s always next year, I guess :)

It’s nearly impossible to get a good picture of all three of them…

Haha!

All of the cousins looking so cute!

I think this was the first time we’ve gotten a picture of all 6 of them together. Cici is brave to host our rowdy crew every Sunday for lunch :)

What’s so funny, Carter?

Abigail got spooked by all the laughter…

“Don’t cry, baby Abigail!”

We love this sweet thing!

After lunch, it was time to hunt eggs. Luke and Barrett were getting a head start by watching where the eggs were being hidden :)

Always in a hurry…

Can’t let Brooklyn get all the eggs…

The kids did good finding most of the eggs without too much help.

Abigail was supervising this year, but next year I bet she’ll be toddling around with the rest of them!

Between the two egg hunts, the girls had more candy than they knew what to do with. Good thing Mommy and Daddy were willing to help with that ;)

After such a busy weekend, the girls crashed hard on the way back to our house. Easter activities with kids are chaotic and crazy sometimes but also way more fun!
