Back in October 2019, Travis and I went to a Sacred Selections fundraiser at the Huntsville Botanical Gardens. The tickets included dinner and a silent auction as well as some live auction items. I bid on a photography package and was surprised when I actually ended up winning it. It was for a 30 minute mini session with Blake Tolliver Photography. I’d never met him or heard of him before, but figured it would be good to get some updated family pictures for cheaper than we would normally spend. Long story short, we couldn’t work out a time for the session that fall, so we were going to postpone to spring 2020…and then COVID hit. So we FINALLY had the session on October 24th, 2020…about a full year later…haha. Better late than never, I guess ;) Blake and his wife met us at a trail near Athens Middle School, and they were so sweet and good with the kids. It was a pretty painless process (which is saying something with 3 kids!), and I loved how the pictures turned out. Here are my favorites!
I really loved how our outfits came together for this session. We’ve never tried this combo of colors before, but I based it all around my green shirt that I wanted to wear. I’ve figured out over the years that it works best if I plan everyone else’s outfits around an outfit of mine that I feel good wearing ;)
I liked how Brooklyn was looking up at Travis in this one :)
I don’t usually get too many pictures of just me and the girls, so this one was special!
Loved this one too :)
These candid pictures capture Brooklyn’s personality perfectly…
She just loves life and has so much enthusiasm over even the littlest things. I love that about her!
Life looks a lot different than it did 13 years ago, but I’m thankful that Travis has been by my side through all the ups and downs…
This was one of my favorite family photos. I loved this bridge…really, the whole trail was so scenic!
Brooklyn is growing up too fast!! Love my fun-loving, sweet girl.
I tell Savannah all the time how I am so proud of her for having such a caring heart. We are blessed to be her parents!
Abigail is full of personality from head to toe! She may be the littlest, but she’s definitely not the quietest ;) We love our little caboose.
We finished up our session at a picnic table near the entrance of the trail…
I liked Savannah’s sweet little smile in this one…
This one would have been perfect if Abigail would’ve been looking at the camera. It’s hard sometimes to capture Savannah’s genuine smile on camera, but this shot did.
Blake and Bethany brought cookies as a bribe for the kids to smile well during the pictures, and we all got to enjoy one at the end ;)
It was the perfect way to end a fun photo session. I was so happy with how these pictures turned out, and hopefully we can use Blake again for another session in the future!
