2018 Grant Family Photos

On November 17th, we drove to Cullman to have family pictures taken with Travis’s side of the family. We’d just had pictures made in June 2017, but if we’d waited another year, it would have meant that Abigail would have been over 2 years old before we had any family pictures with her in them. So, we went ahead with pictures in November!

I’ll just be completely honest and say that my expectations for how the pictures would turn out were pretty low. We now have six kids that are ages 5 and under. It’s hard to get them to even look at the camera sometimes…much less smile for a picture ;) The afternoon actually went pretty smoothly, to my surprise, and the pictures turned out way better than I figured they would! We still got plenty of bloopers and funny faces, but there were definitely some good ones in there too. Here are some of my favorites…

I thought this picture of Melissa and her boyfriend Alex turned out so cute!

Melissa, Cheryl, and Emily

Alisha and her boys…so sweet! (Luke is on the right, and Barrett is on the left).

The Loveless fam :)

This was one of the best pictures of the day! It was hard to get a genuine smile out of Carter, but this one captured it for sure!

Next, we tried to get some pictures of all 6 kids together. It was all we could do to keep the little ones from falling off their boxes/stools…haha. Some of their expressions are hilarious!

I think Savannah and Barrett are definitely the stoic ones of the bunch ;)

Savannah already looks like she’s had enough…ha!

This is one of the best ones we got :)

I think this is my favorite from this pose!

We also tried lining up the kids along the wooden railing. I was totally surprised when Abigail stood up the whole time without holding onto anything! It was several minutes, and she never fell or wobbled. A new record, for sure :) I guess she wanted to do her part to make sure we got the best pictures we could!

I was really excited to see our individual family’s pictures. I feel like we really never got an AWESOME family picture in either Abigail’s 6 month or 1 year sessions, so I was hoping one of these might turn out well. It’s impossible to get all 3 girls to give a good smile at the same time (of course!), but I was pleasantly surprised at how these turned out :)

This is one of my favorites!

Abigail looks like Daddy might have been tickling her in this one ;)

This is the picture we used on our Christmas cards, I believe :)

It’s hard to get Savannah to give a real smile for pictures, but this is getting closer at least!

Next, we tried to get pictures of the 3 girls by themselves…

This is probably the best picture of the 3 of them together…

Time for the whole family!

It was amazing that Nancy caught every single one of us looking at the camera at the same time. I never figured that would happen!

I liked this arrangement where we aren’t as spread out…

Carter cracked me up in this one!

We tried to get a picture of Cici with all her grandkids, and the kids were pretty much over it by this point ;) Some of these are too funny!

This is one of the better ones ;)

Carter and Savannah are DONE! Haha…

I think this is my favorite, even though Luke isn’t looking at the camera. I like all the kids’ expressions in this one :)

We tried one other pose, but Abigail was clearly not interested at this point!

I’m always appreciative of getting some pictures with just Travis and me. I feel like this is about the only time we do anymore!

Next up were Tyler and Alisha…

…and then the four sisters :)

Cici and the originals :)

I loved this one!

We also got a few pictures of all of her “grownup” kids too :)

…and a picture of just the guys :) We have ‘adopted’ Michael into our family, and we are so glad he’s not scared off by our craziness :)

We ended with a few individual pictures of the kids. Here’s Carter (age 4)

Luke (age 2)

Barrett (age 2)

Abigail (age 1)

Savannah (age 3)

…and Brooklyn (age 5)!

Overall, I thought these were some of the best family pictures we’ve had made since Brooklyn was born. I was really happy with how they turned out! I’m glad we take these pictures pretty regularly (even though it can be a hassle to coordinate outfits…haha) because the kids change and grow so fast. Good photos are something I never regret making time for after the fact!
